Dr. Ana Gouvea
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Ph.D. in Linguistics. I offer respectful culturally-sensitive counseling services in different languages (English, Portuguese, Spanish) to individuals, couples and families with the aim of promoting self-growth, balance, empowerment, quality of life, and well being.
I also have a podcast Be Healthy! Be Mindful! where I discuss topics on Mental Health and Mindfulness.
I started my career as a linguist, professor and researcher. I have a Ph.D. in linguistics and I was a professor at FIU for several years.
My practice is focused on the client's strengths and use effective techniques such as CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, MBSR, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT) to help clients improve their lives, fulfill their goals and be happier.
I also offer different workshops and support groups for grief, anxiety, teens, mindfulness and stress.
